My journey here.

I just hit publish on the announcement of my newsletter and community. I cannot wait to have friends and besties because it will be something with a “we” attached.

As I stared at the photo, I decided to adhere to the post, I was pondering the blue and red doors, and a thought came to mind.

My whole life, I have been figuring out who I wasn’t so that I can stand here today and know who I am.

I think that is what “finding yourself” is.

Every outward-looking “mistake” you make is just figuring out who you are not. Every path you take that has a U-turn within it is figuring out what you don’t stand for. Every job you take but hate, and figuring out what you don’t want to become. Every person you date but decide isn’t a great fit is one less person on the list.

So my plea to you, if you feel like you don’t know who you are or where you are going, is to list of who you know you are not.

Create that list with red ink.

Then, pull out a fresh piece of paper, and with a different color of ink, write down who you know you are, what you know you stand for, what you love to do, what you are good at doing, and any other word that comes to mind. It doesn’t have to be a complete list. It only has to be a “truthful in the now” list.

This is one of my favorite exercises.

And very much the exercise I did two weeks ago that landed me to here and now.

I really do hope you join the new community and subscribe to the newsletter. The content you create possesses the answers you are looking for when it comes to work, life, and harmony. (The link is below.)

“There is no such thing as work-life balance. Everything worth fighting for unbalances your life.”
— Alain de Botton

“Work-life balance is a myth. The second you believe it, you have lost it.”
— Simon Sinek

If you are searching for a work-life balance, you will never find it. Instead, search for work-life harmony. I can teach you how to do this.

I look forward to meeting you.

Hugs, Jo
