Tomorrow, I tell my YouTube as a realtor story on air.
Tuesday, August 13th, 2024
Dear Realtor,
Tomorrow, I am doing my first interview post “figuring out this thing called real estate.” During my rise, I had this mindset that I wanted to fly under the radar and get so far ahead of my competition before they realized what I was doing so that they could never catch up when they realized how I created my success. I don’t know if this was the right mindset, but that is the story.
Last year, I broke my silence with the help of this blog, but I didn’t say yes to an interview until last week. So, yep, tomorrow is the day, and I am telling my story about how Karin Carr introduced me to the world of creating intentional content on YouTube. I don’t know how the conversation will go, but I just finished my prep work, and I am so excited, so I had to come here to tell you.
I also thought this might be the perfect time to share my five tips for how to use YouTube as a real estate agent.
How to YouTube as a real estate agent…
One. // Your mindset must be, “I will only create intentional content.”
- What is intentional content?
- Content with a purpose.
- Content created for an audience.
- Content with a call-to-action.
Two. // Don’t know where to start? Try “Document Over Create.”
- This is what I call the GaryVee Philosophy.
- My favorite type of content is what I call “explore local.” I want to show people what it is like to live in my area. I do this through business, neighborhood, and park features. I also do this throughout the day in the life vlogs.
Three. // Only talk about what you know.
- And if you feel like you don’t know anything, document the process of learning and exploring.
Four. // Be you.
- As the saying goes, “Everyone else is already taken.”
- I get the most compliments for how genuine and down-to-earth I am.
- It makes filming for YouTube so easy!
- When you show up to meet a new client, they feel so comfortable and trust you.
Five. // Don’t just post your content to YouTube.
- Embed your long-form videos into blog posts with keywords within the title and post.
- Utilize Pinterest to direct traffic to your YouTube videos and channel.
- Don’t forget about short-form content in the form of Shorts. I create Instagram reels and then use them as shorts on YouTube. They contribute to growing a channel.
Okey, doke. It is almost 11 p.m., and the kids’ first day of school is tomorrow. Wish me luck.
With love, Jordan.
